Hyderabad: Sri City expressed profound sorrow over the demise of Dr KM Cherian, a visionary cardiac surgeon whose groundbreaking contributions, including India’s first successful coronary artery bypass and heart transplant, transformed the country’s medical landscape.
Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder and Managing Director of Sri City, lauded Dr Cherian's re-markable impact, stating, “We remember Dr Cherian for his compassion and dedication. Through his guidance, the Sri City Health Centre provided quality healthcare to underserved communities. We honour his memory with deep gratitude and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.”
Dr Cherian’s partnership with Sri City began when Frontier Lifeline Hospitals assumed responsi-bility for managing the Sri City Health Centre over nine years ago. Under his leadership, the cen-tre organized numerous healthcare camps that benefited schoolchildren and underprivileged communities in the region, leaving an indelible mark on public health.
